September was over, October flew in.
It was homecoming time, let the stress begin!
It's only student council, surely there are no pains
But before I knew it, over were the fun and games.
Started out with Spirit Week,
Our mission to make school not so bleak.
Four days of spirit and one day of cheer,
The time had come to move up the gear.
Ribbon and bracelets, pleading peers to buy some more
Along with Homecoming tickets, promised them it would not be a bore.
"How many kids are going? I heard last year was bad!"
"Yea but things change and we promise to make you glad."
Day by day the spirit increased,
And the seniors were winning, a can of kick-but was unleashed!
Everyone else was enjoying games,
while the six of us were anxious and feeling the flames!
But the day grew closer, soon it was Friday night
I was pronounced King, my crown shimmered under the light.
My fears went away and knew it was here,
The time to make homecoming the best and hear everyone's cheers.
The food came on time and the DJ was great.
The best homecoming yet? Without any debate!
I can totally understand why you would under so much pressure, but it all ended up being great. Nice poem.
